Cambridge Locks Overview

Many customers have asked me why, and how, I choose installing one brand of lock in comparison with another brand. Well, allow me to explain thisCambridge Locks Overview process with my review of the Arrow brand Series “E” deadbolts. The first factor in choosing a suitable deadbolt for residential installation is the lock cylinder quality! Arrow brand series “E” deadbolts have been proven to be both affirm and long lasting. The additional security features are what separate Arrow E series locks from the competition.

 

The E series deadbolts are fitted with outer collars that are designed to rotate during any abrupt impact, say for example a strike from a wrench.

This rotating outer collar design is a highly effective means of burglary deterrence. Along with the outer collars, E series deadbolts also have a spinning shutter which covers the access holes for retainer screws on the double cylinder model whenever the key is taken out. Having a shutter over the access holes for the retainer screws would prove beneficial if there were an attempt at forced entry through a glass door, because even with the glass broken, the burglar wouldn’t be able to easily unscrew the cylinder retaining screws.

A feature on the E series deadbolts I find advantageous to a professional locksmith would be the fact that E series use a cylinder lock housing which is very similar to key-in-knob cylinders. This allows the deadbolt to be used along side other lock cylinder brands, which prevents the locksmith from having to stock up on “brand specific” locks.So I’d have to say that my methodology for choosing one brand over the other breaks down to A) Cylinder Quality, and B) installation difficulty and finally C) customer satisfaction. The Arrow Series “E” deadbolts, have a high quality rating, installation is fairly standard, thus has little to no difficulty, and as far as customer satisfaction, once I inform a customer that the spinning shutter which covers the cylinder retaining screws provides extra security, they’re always that much MORE satisfied, by knowing that the locksmith they’ve hired is taking initiative to complete the job thoroughly, and in its entirety.
